ParticipantHi All,
I hope everyone is staying safe!
I am currently working on my narration demo and working on keeping tone the same, as well as not rushing too much. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks-TaylorScript:
In the spring of 1987, Stevie Nicks checked herself into the Betty Ford clinic to end more than a decade of cocaine abuse. After undergoing a 30-day treatment, she was released. Stevie was determined to stay clean and anxious to continue her demanding career. She immediately went into the studio to record Tango in the Night with Fleetwood Mac. It would be their last album together for more than a decade. (music cue – “Seven Wonders”) By early 1988, Stevie Nicks was running out of steam. She was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome. After four months on the Tango in the Night tour, her final few shows had to be canceled.

ParticipantHi Taylor! Really good! I like the pacing and clarity of this a lot! I was really listening to hear about Stevie Nicks (who is a favorite of mine!). It was well performed and not rushed and also not too slow. The tone had a consistency to it without being monotone. It felt like you gave the listener time to understand / catch up to what was being communicated – very good!

ParticipantHey Everybody,
I’m working on my studio, aka, closet, so please let me know how that sounds in addition to your other feedback. Thank you so much for listening and commenting.Motel 6 Do-over
I’ve just been hearing about this trendy new hairstyle called a man bun. I mean what’s next the hee hive? well Motel 6 recently got a new updo of sorts too with renovations nationwide and even with our fresh modern look you’ll still find rooms at the lowest price of any national chain so you can save up enough money to get yourself a haircut or maybe a hat.
We’ll leave the light on for you, at Motel6.comNO!
Kids hate the word no. As in no you can’t stay up late, no you can’t have more ice cream and no, you may not paint the cat. No, no, NO! Well isn’t it time for a yes? We think so. Six Flags Great Adventure. Yes!Attachments:

ParticipantHi Suecat, good job on these! I liked the tone and pace for Motel 6, and the rising tone / your interpretation at “…or maybe a hat.”, which sounded like “…or maybe a hat?” For the second script, I really liked how you built the 3 things that kids hear “no” to as if each one of them was worse than the one before, really made it sound like a convincing story! Keep up the good work!

ParticipantHello to All!
This is my first script and I will be glad to hear your feedback. Thank you in advance.
KENYA – A short documentary
When people think of Africa … they see disease … poverty … crime … violence … I am about to change that perception, and show you a country … where wealth … health … peace … security … is in abundance. Located in the heart of Africa, there is one magical country that has made that difference. Welcome to Kenya, my friends … and enjoy your stay with us.Attachments:

ParticipantFirst of all welcome!
I loved your take on this script – your voice is very colorful and had great emphasis on selected words throughout. It sounded like “the” was missing/smushed in “Located in the heart of Africa…”; that’s an easy fix. Also I did not hear a slight pause at the end of the sentence “…that has made a difference. Welcome…” and so the two sentences ran together. These small tweaks will make your performance sound a little clearer in my opinion. Good job and I hope that helps!

ParticipantThat was wonderful! I mean I’m no expert; but your voice sounds absolutely lovely for documentaries! I’d 100 percent watch that program you’re sampling!

ParticipantHi Gathonigatchie! Your voice with it’s accent is outstanding, very alluring and convincing. Wonderful job! The only advice that I have is that you use some sound dampening equipment that it doesn’t sound like your in an empty room. But on your first script it was beautiful I love every minute. Was waiting for more.

The resurgent popularity of analog is evidenced by popular photography brands such as Kodak reintroducing classic stocks like their Ektachrome film, a spike in accessible resources for processing and a renewed interest among collectors. Though it can be difficult to locate darkrooms to use, the process of developing film can be easily mastered in any dark space. Below, we explain how to develop film and how its technology can be used to capture fascinating images.

ParticipantHi Mary!
The reading is smooth and flows well without getting lost in the story. Also good tonal shifts as needed and highlighting keys words in the passage.

ParticipantHi,
I loved your read. You told it like it is just kind of matter of fact but not cold, I just thought it was great. -

ParticipantHello, It’s been about 2 years in the making for me…. I am officially open for business. I built my own vocal recording booth, acquired all the gear and have been tinkering with producing my own stuff to be able to put a demo together. I want to focus on narration and so my first demo is geared towards that. Would love to get some feedback on how it sounds.
It is entirely self produced, with the exception of one excerpt that I was hired for and i used clips of what they produced in the demo.
I use a Neumann TLM-103…and some Rode NT1 for microphones. Universal Audio Apollo Twin X interface running an Avalon 737 preamp plugin. Adobe Audition DAW and I post produce/process with the Izotope software suite, (Nectar, Neutron, and Ozone)

ParticipantThank you…. I appreciate it. Honestly I don’t. I got my editing and production skills a long time ago when I worked in radio. Basic editing, multitrackiing, processing. But I watched a lot of YouTube videos to get it up to the next level. The information is out there…. You just have to find it and practice.

ParticipantRyan!
Hmmm, not sure if I’m knowledgeable (edge….) enough yet; I was struck by your voice and versatility; the production quality for sure, but, I am wondering if a client would not just be interested in your voice alone? For me the accompanying music was loud, distracting and over topped your voice.
Rock On!!-

ParticipantI appreciate the comments…. I have been focusing a lot of my audio production skills on what is called “unmasking”…… it’s where you make equalization adjustments to your vocal track and your music track to get your voice to “lay in the mix”…… this allows you to still keep a nice loud music track that helps to evoke emotion….but the vocal track is still intelligible through it.

ParticipantHello Everyone! I am looking for some sound quality and editing feedback please and thank you in advance! The script is as follows, and the edits that I did on the read were: Removed breaths, removed spaces, removed plosives, and added a little speed to it. Please let me know what you think.

ParticipantHey, You have a very clear and smooth voice. I’ll agree with Bev, an increased tempo would make it sound more conversational. In the second performance, I could hear your deep inhale, I guess that’s not a big deal, since they can be deleted from the recording. As we’re instructed, choose the person you’re talking to and why you’re telling them this information, to create that believable conversation. Love your voice, keep posting.
