    Hello all,

I’m looking for feedback on this cartoon character demo: “Octopus Baby.” Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.

    Regards,
    Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth. I loved the sound of that character. I don’t have any issues with it. There is a brightness and energy that is fun.

Fun character read. I like the transition from tantrum/jealously to then bragging about all that you can do with eight arms. I did hear hints of your natural voice when the high pitch dropped which changed the texture and lost the baby at times. Cudos on a character voice!

Hello again! I have another piece in both English and Spanish: a quick call to vote in Maricopa County. They’ve asked for a Latino voice in English with perfect Spanish delivery. I tried to slow down on the English version as per previous feedback, but the Spanish version has more words to it even as it’s an adaptation of the English piece.

Your feedback is truly and greatly appreciated.

I enjoyed your delivery very much. The political ad sounds professional, like some I have heard on the radio. The energy is positive and engaging. Sorry I don’t speak Spanish, but that had a great flow.

      Hi
Very nice delivery… I thought it was done and then out of nowhere i heard more. I wouldn’t leave such a gap.. I agree with Robert it sounds professional and you gave good energy.

The building managers are reading. The speed was high for me, I missed some instructions. Imagine that you are in a structure and that you cannot leave within your responsibilities until everyone else is eligible. Trying to carry commands by force, with the need to move in silence. The real goal is honest and concise. You want people to get a route so you can leave. https://ometv.uk/

Congratulations, you just bought Allstate Homeowners Insurance. And now, if your home or property suffers a covered loss or is damaged, you’ll be covered, and that’s a good feeling. However there are some things that can’t be replaced, so that’s why it’s important to prevent these damages from occurring in the first place. Here, you’ll learn what steps you can take to make your home safe and secure.

Hay Max, your demo is nice and clear. Good enunciation too. IMHO, you might try a little more emotion, but over all, pretty darn good!

    Lawszvoice,

If you have time could you listen to my recordings? I was able to convert them to mp3 recently. Any feedback is welcomed.

Robert, That was so worth the wait. You have a wonderful narrative voice, descriptive, knowledgeable, well done! Your script choices match your voice.

I live in Connecticut and know the exact buildings you were describing on the Yale tour.

I can hear your voice on a History Channel Documentary. Glad you had fun with the volcano read. Could hear your smile and personality. Your voice is deep and calming so have fun with the pace and the phases you choose to emphasize because it brings the listener along on the adventure.

    Good Evening!

More recordings as homework via instructor. I’m being a bit more dexterous, and trying to ease my anxiety, so I’m posting two this time.

In both recordings, my main focus were making sure I’m leaving little space in between lines, as I tend to pause a lot, subconsciously. Hopefully I’m conveying my conversation with less restriction in my performance. Also, since I’m loosening up, I want to make sure I’m keeping track of my beginning/middle/end of the script.

Criticism and critiques of any kind are very much welcome. Thank you for your time!

Hm…I do feel like I’m still hearing some of the pauses you mentioned – however, my main observation is that it feels you keep on giving the lines the same cadence, like you start out the line with a medium tone and then take it higher by the end. It’s one thing to do that for a line in general, but when you keep doing it it becomes noticeable.

I will say the second recording sounded much better than the first, however.

Thanks for your input! I hadn’t realized that I would end up being repetitive in that way. I’ll make sure to keep this in mind in the future as I record.

      Hey There,
I didn’t hear too many pauses but do keep working on it. For the greyhound script it sounds read. The Kentucky script was good but be careful with over enunciation.

Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of over-enunciating before. Maybe it’s because I’m being too cautious of under-enunciating? Regardless, I’m definintely going to make sure I keep these things in mind as I work on my recording. Thank you!

I had submitted this for the current contest without music. It compliments the spoken word so importantly in my opinion, as you never see movies, commercials etc. without music or rarely.
Any thoughts or critiques gladly welcome!

Really liked your read. However, for me, the music choice made it feel more like a vacation commercial.
