ParticipantHi Jeff,
I liked both your Aena and Black Diamond reads I thought you captured the tone of a health advocate in the first demo and the sports enthusiast in the second. Any “criticism” I might have you already covered in your caveats. Good job! -

ParticipantHello All, I would love some feedback on this read for Big O tires. I am working on pacing, amongst many other things. If you could please give a quick listen and reply with some of your thoughts I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

ParticipantThere’s a lot I like about this read such as the energy which is good. I can imagine hearing this as a radio commercial. I suggest, however, to keep working more in the direction of conversational since it sounds a bit like a 90’s announcer style voice over where you’re commanding the listener to do something.
Also, on a technical note, keep in mind that when you export a recording as an MP3 you’re getting a compressed version of the full digital recording. So you need to make sure that you leave some dead air at the very beginning and very end of the recording so that the vocal part of the recording doesn’t get cut off. The vocal got cut off at the very end of your audio file which is due to the fact that there was not sufficient dead air at the end of the recording.

ParticipantHi Terry,
I really like your pacing on Big-O tires. I understand the increase in volume with the line “Don’t wait any longer” but the volume seems to keep increasing rather than staying at the new level. Other than that, well done!
Regards,
Elizabeth-

ParticipantThanks Elizabeth. I appreciate your feedback. I will try to keep an eye out for any changes in volume.

ParticipantGood Evening!
I have here another reading that I recorded for practice.
The more I went over it, the more I realized that this is NOT a conversational piece, despite my treating it as such, lol. I’m looking for clear and concise words, variance and emphasis with the words that matter, and as little awkward pausing as possible.
I appreciate any and all feedback. I know I forget things easily, and it’s honestly the best thing to help me hammer it into my memory. Thanks again!

ParticipantUsing the advice in the voice actor’s to-do list that was shared in the recent Edge newsletter, and hoping to get some feedback on some recent auditions.
Audition 1 Specs: Male, 40s-70s. Natural, not commercial. Authoritative. A rich, deep, lived-in voice with some unique character. No southern accents (neutral dialect). Ability to romance copy, create a longing for West Virginia. Multiple scripts.
Audition 2 Specs: Super energetic and exciting, yet friendly – that friend who can’t wait to tell you about something new they tried.

ParticipantHi Brian,
I like the differentiation between the two reads, the confidence in one and the energy in the other.
For Announcer_Brian-Wiggins, it sounds (to me) like some of your words ending in L or vowels like in the word ‘you’ trail off slightly. That’s my only note for that
I liked Fazolis-VO_Brian Wiggins a lot, your read makes me want to try some of that food! When you go from describing the sauces to the cheeses, there’s a bit of a jump in your excitement level where I think it might flow better to have more of a crescendo linking the two parts together, which I can hear a little bit of at the words ‘alfredo sauce,’ but I think it could be even stronger, if that makes sense. Hope this is useful!

ParticipantHi there
I’m having trouble opening both of your submissions. I tried on my computer and my phone. It shows as having a length of time but is silent. Very well could be my devices (both Apple) but wanted to alert you in case others are having difficulty too and is robbing you of feedback 🙂
